How to create a Slide List in Microsoft Powerpoint

A printed list of slides(also known as Slide List in Microsoft Powerpoint jargon) is very helpful when you present. You can use the list to move quickly to a specific slide (in Slide Show view, just type the number of the slide and press Enter).

To create a slide list, follow these steps:

1. Display the Outlining toolbar (choose View > Toolbars > Outlining)
2. In Normal view, click the Collapse All button on the Outlining toolbar. All you should see in the Outline pane are the slide numbers and titles
3. Choose File > Print to open the Print dialog box
4. From the Print What drop-down list, choose Outline View. Click OK

How to easily change the default Windows File Icons?

The freeware IconX makes it possible to change any icon that you can get your hands on in Windows. It takes care of file type and specific files, folders and even drives. The installation is pretty simple. Download the IconX software and right-click IconX.inf and select install to install the shell extension. Please note that you need to write the author to receive a validation code because the software was shareware and is now freeware.

After all of this is done right-click a file, folder or drive and select Change Icon from the context menu. A window pops up showing the path to the file, folder or drive. You will have to choose a icon library, some of which can be loaded from the developers page, and all the icons of that library will be displayed.

Just click on the icon that you want to use and use the optional “Use icon for all files of that type” if you wish that as well. Changes will be visible immediately and you can repeat the process if you don’t like the icon anymore.

How to Get Free Trial Copies of Windows Vista

Microsoft will hand out Windows Vista with trial licenses as well as free copies of the 2007 Microsoft Office Professional System and the 2007 Microsoft Office Groove for the Launch Events 2007 across the United States.

The Launch Events 2007 are part of the Ready for a New Day launch Tour 2007 that will launch Windows Vista, the 2007 Microsoft Office System and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 in 74 different locations in the US.

“Offer good only to registered attendees of the event on the date they attend, while supplies last. This offer is nontransferable. Limit one item each per attendee. Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the recipient. The free software will be distributed as a downloadable file. To download the software, an access code will be required. The access code must be claimed onsite at event,” informed Microsoft.

Trial licenses of Windows Vista will be available in NYC, Phoenix, Tampa, Boston, LA, San Francisco, DC, Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, Houston, Philadelphia, Dallas and Seattle. By contrast, free copies of Office Professional and Groove 2007 will be given away on all the locations of the events.

The free copies of Office Professional and Groove 2007 are not time bombed. Microsoft will offer complete versions of the products, but only to the participants of the Launch Events. Ten Steps To Achieving Your Goals In 2007

1. Make the commitment to reach your goal. "One person with a commitment is worth a hundred who only have an interest." Mary Crowley.

 

2. Commit yourself to detailed accountability. Record your progress toward your goals every night, and list the six most important things you need to do the next day. Daily discipline is the key to reaching your goals.

 

3. Build your life on a sold foundation of honesty, character, integrity and trust. This foundation will give you an honest shot at reaching any goal you have set properly.

 

4. Break your intermediate and long-range goals into incremental goals and targets.

 

5. Be prepared to change. You can't control the weather, inflation, interest rates, the stock market etc. Change your decision to move toward a goal carefully--but be willing to change your direction to get there as conditions and circumstances demand.

 

6. Share your "give-up" goals (i.e., give up smoking, being rude, being late, procrastinating, eating too much, etc.) with many people. Chances are  really excellent they're going to encourage you.

 

7. Become a team player. Remember: You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.

 

8. See the reaching. In your imagination see yourself receiving that diploma, getting that job or promotion, making that speech, moving into the home of your dreams, achieving that weight-loss goal, etc.

 

9. Each time you reach a goal your confidence will grow so that you can do bigger and better things. After accomplishing any goal, record it in your own journal, Weekly Planner or Palm Pilot.

 

10. Remember, what you get by reaching your destination isn't nearly as important as what you become by reaching your goals--what you will become is the winner you were born to be!
