Beware : Bajaj Pulsar 200 Front Fork highly Defective

Bajaj Auto recently launched the new 200 cc ‘Pulsar’ DTS-i. The latest offering had set new benchmarks in technology, performance, and styling. But now it seems like its the WORST bike in the Bajaj stable (yes I mean it... just read on).

It has many design defects and is seriously Dangerous. Although I myself own a Bajaj Bike and have been more than happy with its performance (Bajaj Discover 125 DTS-i) for over 2years now - but that's a different story.

The Pulsar 200 has defective front forks which break even at speeds like 40kmph!!
Lots of the fork breaking cases have come up and luckily nobody is killed yet. I guess it's time that Bajaj re-called the bikes and came up with a better solution.

Do pass on this information so that people are aware of what they are paying for / have payed for. Hopefully this information helps you all.

Below are some photos of the broken forks [Different Bikes]

Happy to see this post here and i own a bajaj 150cc pulsar and it also have many defects.one of the main defect of it is the chain sprocket complaint. Then another issue on the clutch and another one in the front fork.On relasing the clutch suddenly and if we raise the acclatr we can c the whole vehicle starts to shiver without moving.i.e we have to release the clutch immediately.this will reduce the comfort especially when ladies are sitting behind.

Afterall there is no good service station for bajaj. So i never guide anyone buying a bajaj bike.

Yes Pal. There are some problems with a few Bajaj bikes - but not all.

Here in Bangalore we have a Good network of Bajaj service centers.

    Hi guys,

I have been following the blogs on Pulsar 200 and am surprised to see the same pics on every blog. I feel its too early and insufficient to pass a verdict. I have a Pulsar 200 and have done 2300 km in 2 months on varied indian roads.

My experience is excellent on this bike. I have taken the bike to service station after reading the blogs. Those guys at service station are extremely friendly and helpful and have assured trouble free ride after inspecting my bike.

    keep riding

    Hi

I somehow don't agreee with you. I own a P200 and i'm overwhelmed by the service of the company. The bike is great but the service is also good. I have seen the front frok images, but then i suppose these are 2-3 cases out of so many vehicles on the road. Front forks of my p200 were also changed and for that too , the Bajaj service guys chased me like mad and changes the forks within 2 hrs.

I agree with karthik, some guys are circulating the same pics on their blogs. Looks like a good job from some competitor of Bajaj to defame the product.

Cumon yaar, wakeup. bajaj guys are giving us good bike with lots of excitement in technology. One-two stray cases shouldnot be amplified.

I am a fan of bajaj bikes and have recently booked pulsar 200. In my country, you see bajaj bikes every where, and no one complaining.

    Hi Ranjit,

I didn't recieve a penny from Bajaj's competitor to put up this news.

Just wanted to inform you all about the risk involved with this model - that's all pal.

BTW, as I said in my article - I myself own a Bajaj bike :)

    Cheers!!

    Dear jason

You read me wrong. I have not blamed you. I have been seeing the same pics on all the blogs, hence that thought cropped up.

BTW, how can you make a statement like "Just wanted to inform you all about the risk involved with this model"? Are u an authority in India to review an automobile. Can you give the statistics on number of pulsar200 sold since introduction and the number of bike found defective?

What ever you said is your personal openion, which may not be correct.

Lets not be judgemental about a product based on some hear say.

    Hi Ranjit,

I maynot be an Authority in the automobile space - But sure as a responsible Blogger, I wanted to inform all my friends out there.

Lets face it pal - when there is so much of photographic evidence of the defective Pulsar 200's out there. It surely is a cause for concern.

What would you do pal if any of your friends were to get injured because of no fault of their's? We need to be more proactive in helping all our friends out there to take an opinion out of this.

What do other's feel about this?

    Cheers!!

    Dear Jason,

U say that u are a responsible blogger. If that is true, then without experiencing Pulsar200 (You said u have discover), how have u started this blog? On hear say? On the pics published by one person in Kolkatta? On reading the other blogs written by the same person from Kolkatta?

The pics on your blog are the same as published by the person in Kolkatta. Do u have more evidences?

I am sure not. So ur claim of responsible blogger needs to be reviewed.

If one person from Kolkata has prompted you to start this negative campaign, then why dont you start a positive blog after seeing the comments on your blog?

One pal- Karthik writes he is extremely happy with pulsar200 and service. Another Pal also expresses the same feelings of satisfaction with Pulsar200.You are happy with discover and the service network.

I think this is sufficient to change the openion in your blog vis-a-vis two stray instances of reported failure.

Before booking pul200 and after seeing the blogs, I happened to be in Delhi last week and I visited bajaj workshop in karol bagh. I happened to meet couple of customers who spoke very high about the vehicle.

Yesterday, I went to HH Bajaj workshop here in Kathmandu and met more satisfied pul200 customers. All this has re-inforced my beleif that I have taken a right decision of booking pul200.

Moreover, I am a fan of bajaj bikes and keep changing my bike whenever new bike is introduced by them just to experience the new technology they give. I like excitement engineering that only bajaj gives.

Presently I own a pul180. I have never faced any prob with the service or product as the people in Bajaj showroom and service centre here are very friendly and helpful (I endorse Kartik's experience here)

    Cheers!!

    Hi Ranjit,

You have got me completely wrong.

When there is so much of pictures of different bikes available out in the open for only this model - Pulsar 200. So there's NO reason why we shouldn't believe this.

Anyways, since you are gonna purchase this bike - Let's wait for a review from you on this :)

These pictures are NOT from any other blog - I received these pictures personally from a good friend of mine.

    Cheers!!

Hi frnds this is srikanth .i am frm hyderabad . i own a bajaj pulsar 200.i am riding it on the roads since last 8-9 months. and i already crossed 9,200km and reached a maximum of 114kmph on a national high way.here my friends every time they use to say that i am a rash rider .
.and i use to go with a speed of 60-80 kmph in a general traffic .dont bother how the roads are.and i also won in drag race with karizma .nd rx100.
the instant pick up is too sexy and also breaking as compared to any bike.
As i went through the blogs given by different guys (both user and non users of 200 pulsar).when i bought my new bike i got a doubt by seeing all these news and messages given in different sites that i made a mistake by purchasing pulsar 200.
but 9 months lateras i am completely satisfied with my bike's performance (with mielage, pickup speed, breaking and so many other features).
. so guys i just want to inform that there is no problem with the new pulsar 200. some one will say some thing according to their opinion.Dont bother. If u want to get a new pulsar 200 just go for it.and experience it as i did .
nd till the date i did not get any poblem with my hot chic.
    really guys u lov it.

    Jason,

I really do appreciate the efforts taken by you to bring forward the problem that were there in the 200. We need more ppl to come out like this. The thing is Bajaj has replaced the front forks with a new design incorporating a curved rib for support. I am going to buy a 200 and now I know what to look out for. Thanks Jason!
