coRank :: Yet another Social Bookmarking service with a twist

CoRank is best described as a cross between Digg and Bluedot. It has a Digg-like user interface where users view stories, but by default you are only shown stories bookmarked by other users you’ve added as friends.

I believe that they'll make coRank an authentic step advanced in the world of the system of recommendations, and a potential threat for google bookmarks, diggs and other similar services.

Because coRank incorporates the habitual functionalities of these systems. And it is that with coRank, the interest of the news is not what the “mass” considers interesting (I usually differ quite often with “the mass”) but what “your sources” (that you can select and manage) consider interesting.

This opens the door to an immense world of possibilities, to make the social filtrate real of the news. But not the filtrate “of anyone” (including undocumented people - often gregarious), but the filtrate of “who I consider interesting” is all one differentiates.

I at the moment already have been created an account, and I am going away to test the usuary assets of the system. I hope that those who I consider interesting also open it and that becomes active users. Because frankly, to me the one of “wisdom of the crowds” seems to be a nonsense (it is not necessary more to see what people read). To me of interest is “wisdom to me of the wiser”.
