Windows Vista 64 Bit now available for Direct Download

Microsoft recently revealed the immediate availability of a new Windows Vista Interim. At that time, the Redmond Company was delivering just the 32-bit version in English, German and Japanese.

This is no longer the case as Microsoft, starting yesterday Tuesday, September 26, 2006, has made the 64-bit version of the operating system also available for download. Windows Vista Build 5728, the 64-bit version Windows Vista Build 5728 can be downloaded via the browser, or with the help of the Akamai Download Manager, as it is a 3.54 GB file that requires to be burned to a DVD prior to installation.

“The 64-bit version of build 5728 is now available in both German and English. The window is rapidly closing for download of the English build, as we're nearing our targeted download quantity. If you've not yet downloaded the build, I would suggest doing so today. Thank you to all of our beta testers who've downloaded this build to date -- we didn't expect your response to be so rapid and enthusiastic,” wrote White on the Windows Vista Team Blog.
